Crazy Tower in Vienna, Austria: photos and description

The Crazy Tower in Vienna is one of the most terrifying and fascinating places in the world. The fact is that the Tower of Lunatics contains within its walls a museum of pathological anatomy.

In the building you can see different parts and organs of the human body. They were alcoholized in special solutions and placed in different vessels. Almost all organs underwent a gene mutation. The tower represents all human fears. For lovers of high doses of adrenaline in the blood, this is the most suitable place. Creepy impressions will be provided to you.

The museum building is located in the tower. From a distance, the room looks very intimidating. If you look closely at the ominous architectural appearance of the tower, you’ll feel as if you were watching a horror movie such as Silent Hill. Moreover, it must be said that the creators of the game of the same name used the visual appearance of the tower in one of its levels.

The Austrian capital has a university campus. It is in this mysterious tower. It was built in the XVIII century. Her first destination was a haven for lunatics. A careful examination of the development plan clearly traces its original purpose.

The room has five floors and two courtyards inside. All floors have equal-sized rooms for sick people. In addition to the rooms, each floor is equipped with a ring-shaped corridor. The madhouse in Vienna did not last long, namely from 1784 to 1786.

Museum of Human Vices

After the room ceased to fulfill its originally intended function, it was given under Museum of Pathology. Today, there are a large number of mysterious exhibits. All of them, in one way or another, are associated with deviations of the human body in the field of gynecology or are prone to sexually transmitted diseases.

In this terrible museum there are many organs of the human body in alcoholic form. Of these, human skulls and genitals that have undergone mutations attract special attention from visitors. Of course, not everyone will be interested in exhibits of the Tower of Madmen. But, for lovers of everything extreme and eerie, this is the very place that should be visited in the Austrian capital.

The Tower of Lunatics also has an instructive effect on people who have promiscuous sex life. And in our age of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, this is very important. The Vienna Museum of Pathology is a real reminder to humanity of its vices. It is unique in its kind.

Riddles of the Tower of Crazy

During the Second World War, the premises of the current museum were repeatedly bombed. During one of them, one of the most valuable exhibits of the museum was destroyed - the famous sculptural group of Laocoon. It was made from animal bones. But, according to legends associated with the Tower of Madmen, the bones of man are also present in the sculptural group.

Today it is almost impossible to prove this. The sculptural group is the struggle of Laocoon with snakes. In the Vatican, in the museum of Pius Clement, there is an exact analogue of this famous sculpture, but it is also a copy of a bronze statue made in two hundred years BC. The original sculpture of Laocoon has not been preserved.
